Theatre Raleigh

Volunteer

If you love our shows, consider becoming a volunteer!

Every season, we rely on a loyal group of volunteers to keep our Front of House operations running smoothly.

By becoming a volunteer usher, you play a key role in making our productions a success!
And in return, you get to watch the show for free!

Volunteer responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Greeting patrons

Scanning tickets at the front doors

Distributing playbills and adding playbill inserts as needed.

Guiding patrons in the lobby (indicating where bathrooms are, etc)

Assisting patrons who may require special attention to get seated in the theatre and keeping patrons OFF THE STAGE

Helping Theatre Raleigh staff keep patrons and actors safe (i.e. asking patrons to move bags, feet, etc. from performance space)

Letting patrons know when the house is open when given the go-ahead from the Front of House Manager and directing patrons back into the space after intermission.

Resetting the theatre space after the performance – this includes

cleaning up trash under chairs,

gathering leftover playbills,

resetting chairs if they have been moved during the performance,

returning scanners and volunteer badges to the office.

We would like each volunteer to choose their specific role (scanning, seating in the theatre, directing patrons in the lobby)

Volunteers are accepted on a rolling basis, but preference is given to those willing to commit to more than one shift during the season.

We ask that all new volunteers attend one training session prior to working their first show.

Next Training:
TBD

Thank you to all our volunteers! We couldn't do what we do without you!
