Big Fish tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest. Edward’s incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him – most of all his devoted wife, Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales. Overflowing with heart and humor, their affirming journey will change them – and maybe you – forever.

CARLOS ALCALA (Zachy Price/Ensemble) is incredibly excited to be making his Theatre Raleigh debut! Previous credits include: Equity: Leaving Eden, Tartuffe, My Fair Lady, and Sweeney Todd. Off-Broadway: Let’s Broadway: An Off-Broadway Cabaret Series (West End Lounge). Regional: Warner Huntington III in Legally Blonde: The Musical, Captain Walker in The Who’s Tommy: The Musical, J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz (Villager’s Theatre), Danny Zuko in Grease, Officer Lockstock in Urinetown, Robbie Hart in The Wedding Singer, and Curly McLain in Oklahoma! (Monroe Township Center of Performing Arts). University: Tommy Ross in Carrie: The Musical (Historic Playmakers Theatre), and Stanislav in The Kritik (Kenan Theatre). CHANDA BRANCH (Witch/Ensemble) is thrilled to be performing with Theatre Raleigh for the first time! She has been featured onstage with numerous companies in Florida, Tennessee, and North Carolina. Her credits include leading roles in Smokey Joe's Cafe (Brenda), Chicago (Velma Kelly), Ragtime (Sarah), Zuccotti Park (Kate), Pooled (Thias), and Crowns (Velma).  Additionally, she has appeared in supporting roles in Hairspray (Lorraine), 9 to 5 (Kathy), Black Nativity (Soloist), Porgy & Bess (Strawberry Woman), and Gypsy (Ensemble). She is a Raleigh Arts Commissioner, Technical Theatre Educator, and former Mrs. Black North Carolina. TIMOTHY GULAN (Edward Bloom) is very happy to be making his Theatre Raleigh debut, having just finished a production of Bridges of Madison County at TheatreWorks CA. Most recently on Broadway, he performed in Sting’s The Last Ship. Other Broadway & tours include Les Misérables 25th Anniversary, South Pacific, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Some Like It Hot, Picasso at the Lapine Agile, Carousel, Falsettos, The Lion King, Blood Brothers, Passion, and The Frogs. World Premieres: For the Boys, Paul Gordon’s Emma (including the soon to be released film), Houdini, Eliot Ness in Cleveland, the King Stag, Just So, and Get in the Car. Movies/TV: South Pacific (Carnegie Hall), LCT’s Passion, The Knick, Salt, MacGruber, Ice Age, Boardwalk Empire, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, and The Producers. SHANELLE NICOLE LEONARD (Jenny Hill/Ensemble) is thrilled to be performing with Theatre Raleigh for the first time. She is working toward her Master’s degree at UNC. A few of her favorite recent performances with PlayMakers Repertory Company have been Elinor from Sense and Sensibility, Dorine from Tartuffe, and Averie from Dot. Shanelle, a Seattle native, has performed at Seattle Shakes, ArtsWest and Coeur d' Alene Summer Theater, among others. Shanelle would like to thank God for always opening up doors for her on her journey.

AREON MOBASHER (Amos/Ensemble) is a senior at NC State University, completing a BA in English with a minor in Theatre. Favorite credits include Giuseppe Zangara in Assassins (Theatre in the Park), Archibald Craven in The Secret Garden (NC State), Pirelli in Sweeney Todd  (Raleigh Little Theatre), Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof (NC State), and soloist in Side by Side by Sondheim  (NCSU TheatreFest). Off stage, Areon works as a freelance headshot photographer and graphic designer. His first performance with Theatre Raleigh was as a chorus member in their 10th Anniversary concert, The Music of Hot Summer Nights. Areon is so grateful to be returning to Theatre Raleigh, and would like to thank Lauren, Eric, Meagan, and the whole TR family for this magical opportunity. KEEGAN STORY (Young Will) is thrilled to return to Theatre Raleigh this summer in Big Fish! He was last seen in Theatre Raleigh’s original production of Adventure Road: The Story of Huck and Tom (Huck) and last summer in The Secret Garden (Colin). A rising eighth grader at Martin GT Magnet Middle School, Keegan is active in Honors Chorus and drama productions. He has enjoyed past performances and training with The Raleigh Boychoir, Raleigh Area Children’s Theatre, and the NC Theatre Conservatory. In January 2017, Keegan received the Freddie G. Excellent Male Actor award at the iTheatrics National Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, GA. Keegan wishes to thank Lauren and Theatre Raleigh for another incredible experience.
